Invisible characters, explained
How do I send a blank message in Discord?+
Copy an invisible character above (Braille Blank U+2800 is the most reliable), paste it into the Discord message box, and hit Enter. Discord normally blocks empty messages, but a message made of invisible characters counts as text and sends as a blank-looking line.
Which invisible character works best in Discord?+
U+2800 (Braille Pattern Blank) and U+3164 (Hangul Filler) are the most dependable. They behave like real characters, so they hold their space in messages, nicknames, and channel names, while zero-width characters are sometimes stripped by input fields.
Can I use an invisible character in my Discord name or a channel name?+
In a display name, a server nickname, or a channel or category name, yes: paste a Braille Blank or Hangul Filler to make it look empty or to add leading space. Your username is the exception. Since Discord moved to unique usernames, they only allow lowercase letters, numbers, underscores and periods, so blank characters are refused there. Channel order is set by dragging channels in Discord, not by their names, so a blank will not move a channel up the list.
Why is my invisible character showing up or getting removed?+
Some fields trim leading and trailing whitespace or drop zero-width characters, which can make a blank vanish or collapse. If that happens, switch to U+2800 or U+3164, which act like normal characters and survive trimming far more often.
Is this tool free?+
